SCULPTURE

Native American sculpting is a tradition that has been passed down for generations. It is a form of art that captures the rich cultural history and spiritual beliefs of numerous indigenous tribes. These sculptures are created using a variety of materials such as Marble, Steatite, Jade, Jadite and Jasper.

Reviving the tradition of Stone flute creation

This eagle flute is carved from a single piece of Steatite from the coast of Washington. Stone flutes are an ancient tradition from the Incas, Aztecs, and at least one Lakota man who made stone flutes up until 1928. This tradition has died out. The flutes that I make are the only ones I know of that are made of stone.

Marble white buffalo sculpture

Each of my sculptures is a reflection of what I see in a particular piece of stone. Some are inspired by traditional stories, others are unique to the stone itself. Each sculpture has its own story to tell.
